Motion Guidance Vestibular Basics: Foundational Screening & Clinical Application (6 Contact Hours)

Course Overview: This 6-hour introductory course provides clinicians with practical, evidence-based skills for conducting foundational vestibular and ocular motor screenings using Motion Guidance visual feedback tools. Participants will learn to recognize key clinical patterns of vestibular impairment and efficiently integrate simple screening procedures into everyday practice. Emphasis is placed on rapid clinical decision-making, identifying red flags, and determining appropriate referral or treatment pathways. The course covers essential components of vestibular screening including basic vestibular intake and bedside tests, ocular motor assessment, identification of unilateral vestibular hypofunction (UVH), and gait and balance testing commonly used in outpatient and sports/orthopedic settings. Additionally, participants will review benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) screening principles, with demonstrations of common test maneuvers and how Motion Guidance visual cues can support patient education, compliance, and motor control training. Through this comprehensive online course, case simulations, and application with Motion Guidance laser targets, clinicians will leave with a structured and efficient approach to evaluating dizziness, imbalance, and suspected vestibular-related conditions in a general outpatient environment. Identification of UVH through VOR testing, HIT interpretation, and functional indicators. Gait & Balance Testing
mCTSIB, Dynamic Gait Index, Functional Gait Assessment principles, and postural control screening with visual feedback targets. BPPV Overview & Screening
Dix-Hallpike, roll test, pattern recognition, and differentiating canal involvement; review of when to refer or treat.
