Vestibular and Neuro Home Exercise

Test and Train your Vestibular System from Home.

The follow exercises are common vestibular exercises in physical therapy that utilize visual feedback to help you work on areas of challenge. These can be also combine with our general "cervical" exercises for motor control, though these deal more with visual systems and specific head/eye task drills.

EXERCISE 1: SMOOTH PURSUIT CHALLENGE:

Sit with an upright position and focus on the center target. Turn the laser on and center the laser into the target. Keeping the laser in the target, follow the outer (lighter) pattern with your eyes into each quadrant. Repeat 5 times clockwise, and 5 times counter-clockwise. Then repeat tracking the inner (darker) pattern. Perform 2-3 times per day.

EXERCISE 2: VOR CHALLENGE:

Sit with an upright position with eyes focused on the center target. Turn on the laser and center it on this target. Keeping your eyes on the center target, move your head back and forth in a "no-no" pattern. Perform for 10 seconds, repeat 5 times. Repeat 3 times per day.

EXERCISE 3: VOR CANCELLATION CHALLENGE:

VOR cancellation: Sit with an upright position with eyes focused on the center target. Turn on the laser and center it on this target. Now trace the outer pattern with the laser keeping the eyes focused on the laser. Trace this pattern 5 times clockwise and 5 times counter-clockwise working with precision on keeping the laser inside the lines the best you can. Repeat for the inner target.

EXERCISE 4: SACCADES CHALLENGE:  

Saccades: Sit with an upright position with eyes focused on the center target. Turn on the laser and center it on this target. Keeping the laser centered inside the target, look back and forth between two targets as fast as you can for 10 seconds. Repeat 5 times, or until you are unable to continue. Saccades can be perform side to side, up and down, and on a tilted axis. Repeat 3 times per day.
